Changes of Serum Immunoglobulin Levels on Long-term Anticonvulsant Therapy in Epileptic Children

Abstract

|
|
Aberrations of serum levels of immunoglobulin have been demonstrated in some patients with epilepsy receiving anticonvulsant drugs. The most constant finding is an abnormally low serum level of IgA in phenytoin treated patients.
@ES The results obtained in this study were summarized as follows:
@EN 1. The mean serum level of IgA was significantly lower in the patients than the controls in each age groups(P<0.05).
